The transformation of a historic building into an office space in downtown Camas is receiving recognition.
The 10,000 square foot structure, at 314 N.E. Birch St., is the former location of Westlie Ford service and parts departments and business administrative offices.
Shawn Parker and Brendan Ford, founders of Fuel Medical, purchased the building for $825,000, and it underwent approximately $1.2 million in renovations. The purchase included a parking lot for employees.
Robertson and Olson Construction, the general contractor, worked with LRS Architects, Wise Design and BAM Office Interiors.
Fuel Medical, a business consulting group that assists physicians with growing their practices through marketing support and financial analytics, relocated from Vancouver to Camas in October 2014.
Fifty-nine employees work in the building, which recently received an honorable mention in the Community Impact – Development of the Year category of the Better Bricks Commercial Real Estate Awards. The presentation, from the Portland Business Journal and Real Estate, Inc., recognizes outstanding work in commercial real estate.
The Fuel Medical building is on a list of Top Projects of Southwest Washington, by the Vancouver Business Journal.
A reception and awards program will be held Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the future site of the Clark College Science, Technology, Engineering and Math building, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver.
The cost to attend is $45 per person. For more information or to RSVP, visit www.vbjusa.com/top-projects-awards.
