The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce has opened registration for an eight-session small business workshop series that begins Sept. 1.
The hourlong workshops will run every Tuesday and Thursday through Sept. 29 at the noon hour or in the late afternoon at the chamber’s office, 1101 Broadway.
The workshop topics and presenters are:
• Market Intelligence — Sept. 1, noon; Jennifer Hauan, senior public services librarian, Vancouver Community Library.
• Earned Media — Sept. 3, noon; Gordon Oliver, Business Editor, The Columbian.
• Crowd Funding — Sept. 8, 4 p.m.; Noland Hoshino of High Five Media and Dan Wyatt, owner of Kiggins Theater.
• Cloud Technology for Small Business — Sept. 15, noon; Michael Curry, professor at Washington State University Vancouver’s Carson College of Business.
• Mobile Interfacing — Sept. 17, noon; Kevin Getch, owner of Webfor.
• Legal Pitfalls for Small Business — Sept. 22, noon; Don Russo and Matt Bisturis, attorneys for Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt.
• Apps for Business 101 — Sept. 24, 4 p.m.; Dene Grigar, Director of WSU-Vancouver’s Digital Technology and Culture program.
• Motivating Low Performers — Sept. 29, noon; Dave McNamee, president of Foundation for Leaders.
The sessions are $10 for members of either the chamber or presenting sponsor Columbia Credit Union, and $25 for nonmembers.
