A free workshop this weekend will teach participants how to properly prune trees, according to the city of Vancouver’s Urban Forestry program.
The workshop will be led by Urban Forestry arborists, who will demonstrate proper pruning techniques and offer tips. Proper pruning can keep trees strong and healthy and prevent hazards, according to the city.
The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at First Place Park, at Northeast 16th Street and 151st Avenue. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring hand pruners if possible. Gloves and some tools will be provided, according to the city.
The event is part of TreeTalk, a series of tree-related educational workshops offered by Vancouver Urban Forestry.
