Recycled Arts Festival names sculpture winners

Esther Short — Tom Jackson of Real Mechanical in Portland crafted a sculpture of a metal fisherman reeling in a large fish. His work, “Steely Dan,” was the top vote-getter of 12 works in the Sculpture Garden at the Recycled Arts Festival in Esther Park in June. It was Jackson’s second straight year winning the contest. Terry Powers of Terry Powers Recycled Metal Art in Sandy, Ore., came in second for his sculpture, “Pup Tractor.” Coming in third was Tom Schell of Schell & Son Metalworks in Vancouver for “Big Oily.”
