TROUT LAKE — The Mount Adams Complex of small fires in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest was reported to be 83 percent contained Tuesday.
The Spiral Fire, which burned an acre of timber in the Big Lava Bed north of Willard, has been put out.
Crews are mopping up hot spots on the 63-acre Riley Fire, one of the small fires of the Mount Adams Complex on the west side of the Mount Adams Wilderness.
Firefighters seek out hot spots, spray water on the charred logs and turn over smouldering duff, according to the website of Washington Interagency Incident Management Team No. 4.
