Vancouver — The Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Council this week awarded $1.5 million in grant money to five bike and pedestrian projects in Clark County. The funding was awarded through the federal Transportation Alternatives Program.
The largest amount, $600,000, went to the city of Vancouver for an extension of the Renaissance Trail along the Columbia River. The Port of Vancouver received $500,000 to add a half-mile segment to the bike and pedestrian paths along state Highway 501 in west Vancouver.
Other improvements will happen on Northeast Highway 99, East Fourth Street in La Center and Main Avenue in Ridgefield.
