A 7-year-old boy was injured Wednesday morning when his bicycle collided with a C-Tran bus in west Vancouver.

The crash was reported at 11:40 a.m. at West 33rd and Daniels streets in the Carter Park neighborhood. The boy was riding on the sidewalk with his family when he entered the intersection and hit the bus, which was unable to stop, said Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp. It appeared that the boy didn’t apply the brakes on his bicycle.

The boy’s injuries were not life-threatening, but the crash significantly injured his legs, Kapp said. His name was not released.
