A smoldering fire at a Washougal furniture restoration warehouse kept firefighters busy for a couple of hours Tuesday morning.

Firefighters from the Camas-Washougal Fire Department were dispatched just before 10:30 a.m. to 2058 E. St. for a report of smoke ind the attic of the small two-story warehouse, firefighter-paramedic Kevin Wilson said.

Though no signs of a fire were visible when crews arrived, Wilson said, a blaze did appear to have started in the building before going out on its own.

Firefighters spent a couple of hours on scene removing a metal sheet to expose the smoldering area and then ventilating the building, Wilson said.
