Evergreen schools announce administrative changes

The board of directors at Evergreen Public Schools approved the following hires, promotions and changes for the 2015-16 school year.

Elementary schools

• Crestline and Endeavour: Tami Opplinger is associate principal. Previously, she was dean of students at Mountain View High School.

• Fisher’s Landing and Mill Plain: Matthew Hill is associate principal. He was special services coordinator in the district office.

• Illahee and Orchards: Patrick Schommer is associate principal. He was at Mill Plain.

• Marrion and Pioneer: Jennifer Hernandez is associate principal. Previously, she worked for Vancouver Public Schools.

• Sifton and Harmony: Jennifer Dowell is associate principal. She formerly worked at Illahee.

• Silver Star: Mari Schauer is the new principal. Previously, Schauer was an associate principal at Crestline and Pioneer elementary schools.

High schools

• Union: Randy Brosius is associate principal. Brosius previously worked at Evergreen.

• Evergreen: Lynnette Sundstrom is an associate principal and formerly was at Union. Sadie Pritchard is an associate principal and previously worked at Mountain View.

• Mountain View: Rashonda Waters is associate principal. Waters formerly was at Evergreen.

District office

• Chris McMurray is assistant superintendent and will oversee curriculum, instruction and assessment. The former administrator in the Parkrose (Ore.) School District replaces Marilyn Colliflower, who will retire in December after 27 years with the district.

• Bill Oman is executive director of secondary education and formerly worked for Vancouver Public Schools. He fills the position vacated by Ted Feller, who now is executive director of the Southwest STEM Network.

• Barbara Laurenzo is assistant director of special services, and comes from Educational Services District 112. She replaces Lisa Pitsch, who has accepted a position with the Mukilteo School District.

• Janet Locascio, former principal at Silver Star Elementary, moves to the district office as special services program coordinator. She will oversee preschool programs, early childhood special education and elementary counselors/social workers.
