Evergreen Public Schools has banned fireworks on school property due to unusually hot and dry weather conditions.
The extra precaution, the school district said, is to protect school buildings and grounds during the Fourth of July season.
Gates at schools will be closed and increased patrols will take place over the weekend, the school district said.
The district is asking neighborhood watch groups to call 911 if they notice any suspicious activity.
