Hazel Dell — Before it could rush around the county keeping people safe, Clark County Fire District 6’s new Squad 61 received a little push. On June 18, five firefighters, and one child, pushed the fire truck into station headquarters on Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue. Pushing the truck into the station is a long-standing tradition of fire stations, dating to when firefighters used horse-drawn equipment, and the horses couldn’t back the equipment into the station themselves. The old truck being replaced will be used as the district’s maintenance vehicle.
