Scholarships
COLUMBIA RIVER HIGH SCHOOL
These 2015 graduates reported receiving the following scholarships:
Ashley Alder received a Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center Volunteer Services Scholarship. She plans to study at Washington State University.
Jason Anderson received an Intel Science Talent Search Semi-finalist Scholarship and a National Merit Scholarship. He plans to attend Yale University.
Abigail Bennett plans to attend Washington State University in Pullman. She received a renewable WSU Regents Scholarship, a renewable Destination WSU Scholarship, a United Methodist Church Scholarship, and a Bill and Peggy Click Memorial Scholarship.
Rebecca Bernheimer received a More Light! Scholarship and a Trustee Scholarship, both renewable, from Lawrence University.
Ryan Boe received a President’s Scholarship from Western Washington University, and a Distinguished Scholar Sophomore Scholarship from the university’s College of Business & Economics.
Hailey Bogart received a renewable Academic Scholarship and a Priority Registration Grant, both from Grand Canyon University.
Kellan Bortz received a renewable Arizona Excellence Tuition Award from the University of Arizona.
Mariko Chopp received a President’s Scholarship and an Opportunity Pathway Scholarship from Western Washington University. She also received a Scholarship for Military Children, and a Ruth Hall Scholarship from First Presbyterian Church.
Abigail Corlett received an Undergrad University Grant and a University Scholarship, both renewable, from the University of Washington.
Jordan Craig received a renewable Athletic Scholarship from Mt. Hood Community College.
Katherine Cross plans to attend the University of Washington. She received a renewable ROTC Air Force Scholarship.
Cailin Dahlin received a renewable Trustee’s Scholarship and a Visit Scholarship, both from Seattle Pacific University.
Ruby Davis received a renewable Mary Gates Honor Scholarship from the University of Washington, and a Key Club College Scholarship from Fort Vancouver Kiwanis Club.
Lili Delgadillo plans to attend Montana State University, where she received a renewable Soccer Scholarship and a renewable Academic Scholarship. She also received a Don C. Brunnell Scholarship, and a Vancouver Association of Principals & Associates Scholarship.
Erik DeVore plans to attend St. Olaf College, where he received a renewable grant. He also received an iQ Credit Union Scholarship and a Meri Martin Senior Scholarship.
Julia Drury received a renewable Discover Idaho Scholarship from the University of Idaho.
Nichole Evenson received a renewable First Scholars award from Washington State University.
Kaylee Fiedler received a renewable Dean’s Scholarship from Pacific Lutheran University.
MaKenzie Fockler received a renewable University Scholarship from the University of Washington. She also received a renewable Washington Opportunity Scholarship, a Rotary Scholarship, and an Intel Scholarship for Employees’ Children.
Sarah Furth plans to attend Seattle Pacific University, where she received a renewable Trustees’ Scholar Award and a Visit Scholarship. She also received a Donna Roberge Young Women of Achievement Scholarship from YWCA Clark County.
Spencer Gehner received a Regional High School Counselor Award from The Evergreen State College, and a Judy Herkert Memorial Scholarship from the Herkert family.
Anali Gomez received an Out of State Opportunity Scholarship, a renewable Rose City Scholarship, a renewable Vision Scholarship, an Early Application Grant, and an Orientation Scholarship, all from the Pacific Northwest College of Art.
Bryce Haskett plans to attend Rice University, where he received a renewable Barbara Jordan Scholarship for Distinguished Initiative in Building Bridges Between Cultural, Racial and Ethnic Groups, a renewable MillerCoors Undergraduate Award, a Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career Scholarship, and a Comcast Leaders and Achievers Award.
Ryan Hallquist plans to attend Pacific Lutheran University, where he received a renewable Faculty Scholarship and a renewable Minister’s Dependent Grant. He also received a renewable West Coast Paper Scholarship Award from The Seattle Foundation.
Taylor Hallquist plans to study and play soccer at Western Washington University, where she received a renewable Athletic Scholarship.
Karissa Hampson received a renewable Stephen Penrose Scholarship from Whitman College. She also received a renewable Sharp Scholars Program Scholarship and a Vancouver Methodist Foundation Scholarship.
Jocelyne Hernandez plans to attend the University of Portland. She received a renewable Arthur A. Schulte Jr. Scholars Award.
Madisen Hilligoss plans to attend Quest University Canada, where she received a renewable University Scholarship.
Nanea Kastner plans to study at the University of Hawaii at Mãnoa, where she received an Eia Mãnoa Summer Bridge Scholarship.
Pavneet Kaur received a Whitworth Scholarship and a Diversity Scholarship, both renewable, from Whitworth University.
Anthony Lentz received a renewable Merit Scholarship and a renewable University Achievement Award, both from Western Washington University.
Marion Lilly plans to study at the University of Portland, where she received a renewable President’s Scholarship. She also received a three-year Army ROTC Scholarship and a Chris Stover Scholarship from the Evergreen Basketball Officials Association.
Madelynn Martin received a Directors Scholarship and a UG Grant, both renewable, from Azusa Pacific University.
Rory Menegat plans to attend Eastern Washington University, where he received a renewable Presidential Scholarship.
McKenna Morin received a renewable Academic Scholarship from Pacific Lutheran University.
Emily Nygard plans to attend the University of Puget Sound, where she received a renewable Presidential Scholarship.
Adam Olson received a President’s Scholarship from Western Washington University.
Madelynne Pirkl received a George Fox Merit Scholarship and a Scholarship Competition, both renewable, from George Fox University.
Allyse Ripley received a renewable Honors College Scholarship from Eastern Washington University. She also received a Red Cross Youth Service Scholarship.
Devin Roll plans to attend Seattle Pacific University, where he received a renewable President’s Scholar Award.
Russell Rose received a BGEA Scholarship for Member’s Children, from the Battle Ground Education Association, and a Grimm Enterprises Scholarship. He plans to study at the University of Washington.
Caitlyn Talbott received an Undergraduate Exchange and an Urban Honors Scholarship, both renewable, from Portland State University.
Sara Turley plans to study at Grand Canyon University, where she received a renewable Dean’s Academic Scholarship. She also received a renewable Candlelighters For Children With Cancer Scholarship.
Jason Turner plans to study at Washington State University in Pullman. He received a WSU Award.
Shelby Yackley received a renewable Dean’s Scholarship Award from Grand Canyon University.
PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL
These recent graduates reported receiving the following scholarships:
Lindsay Asplund, daughter of Brett and Kelly Asplund, plans to major in exercise science at Corban University in Salem, Ore., where she received an Athletic Scholarship in track and basketball.
Mary Black, daughter of Douglas and Victoria Black, received an Award of Excellence Scholarship from Brigham Young University. She plans to study business at the university’s Idaho campus.
Brandon Crosby, son of Mark and Noel Crosby, received a Dussault Scholarship and a Gonzaga Grant from Gonzaga University, in Spokane, where he plans to major in civil engineering.
Solomiya Dezhnyuk, daughter of Alexander and Nina Dezhnyuk, plans to study at Washington State University Vancouver. She received a WSUV Harold F. and Beatrice A. Boutwell Endowed Scholarship and a Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career Scholarship, and will work toward a degree in medicine.
Casey Kampe, daughter of Craig Kampe and Missy Kampe, received a WAHSET Scholarship. She will study at Clark College.
Karyssa Kemp, daughter of Jeff Kemp and Kim Kemp, plans to study anthropology at Washington State University Vancouver. She received a CCUSBC Duane “Shorty” Popkes Memorial Annual Scholarship, a USBC Washington State Scholarship, and a USBC Pepsi Youth Championship Handicap Scholarship.
Clara Mastin, daughter of Larry Mastin and Carolyn Mastin, plans to major in economics at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, where she received a faculty scholarship and a dance scholarship.
Shelby Orr, daughter of Edward and Tina Orr, received an Honors Scholarship and Weber Edge Scholarship from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, where she plans to study nursing.
SKYVIEW HIGH SCHOOL
2015 graduates reporting receiving these scholarships:
Aaron Berger, son of Phil and Lisa Berger, plans to major in applied mathematics at the University of Portland, where he received a renewable President’s Scholarship. He also received The Joel Olson Family Scholarship.
Katherine Cooke, daughter of Mike and Yvette Cooke, received a President’s Scholarship from the University of Portland, where she plans to major in marketing.
Peyton Fredrickson, son of Daren Fredrickson and Kathleen Wilson, received a Track and Field Athletic Scholarship from Washington State University. He plans to study kinesiology at the Pullman campus.
Sammi Hampton, daughter of Rhonda and Kirk Jabusch, received a full scholarship for tennis from Arizona State University, where she plans to major in broadcasting and journalism.
Kathrin Woodall, daughter of Jerald and Sabine Woodall, plans to major in biology at Central Washington University, where she received a Merit Scholarship. She also received a KGW Scholarship from KGW Channel 8 News.
