Girls basketball: La Center 43, White Salmon 35

Taylor Mills had 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists as the host Wildcats beat the visiting Bruins.

Mills scored eight points in the second quarter, when La Center outscored White Salmon 15-4 to take an 11-point halftime lead.

La Center (15-3) improved to 7-1 in the Trico League to stay on the heels of 7-0 Kalama. Third-place White Salmon dropped to 5-4 in league games.

Andrea Griffee scored 11 points for the Wildcats. Katie Whitten and Bethany Whitten each contributed six steals and four assists.

Lexy McKee led White Salmon with 10 points.
