Middle school students learn about fine dining

Battle Ground — A class of Daybreak Middle School fifth-graders traded in their cafeteria tables and lunch trays for linen tablecloths and flower centerpieces. Teresa Edmiston’s class recently spent one lunch learning about fine dining, thanks to Sodexo, Battle Ground Public Schools’ nutrition services vendor, which provided the meal. Nutrition services staff, as well as some parents, served the four-course luncheon to the students, who also learned about etiquette and manners at the dinner table. The menu included Italian wedding soup, fruit salad with honey vanilla mascarpone, meat lasagna with vegetables and a deconstructed cannoli.
