• Alzheimer’s Association of Western & Central Washington is looking for group facilitators to screen new participants, confirm room availability, distribute group promotional materials and support group participants.

• CDM Services seeks volunteers to “adopt a grandparent” in its Elder Friends program, to provide companionship, advocacy and outreach to isolated seniors, helping them to remain independent in their homes as long as possible.

• Clark College Student Learning Center is looking for volunteer tutors to help adult students improve basic reading, writing, math and English communication skills for 2-3 hours per week.

• Evergreen Public Schools is looking for volunteers to prepare and present monthly theme-based art lessons to elementary school students. Materials are provided.

• Inter-Faith Treasure House seeks volunteer bread runners and donation sorters.

• Silver Buckle Ranch seeks help with riding lessons, mentoring, youth groups, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and in its Juvenile Justice and Acts of Random Kindness programs.

Whipple Creek Restoration Committee seeks help with trail maintenance, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 7. Volunteers should meet at the north entrance parking lot on Northwest 21st Avenue, off Northwest 179th Street, and bring gloves, water and a snack. The Clark County Board of Health seeks to fill a position on the Mosquito Control Board for a term that starts immediately and continues through 2016. Applicants must live in District 2, which includes east Clark County and the cities of Vancouver, Battle Ground, Camas and Washougal. The Board of County Councilors seeks to fill three positions on the Public Facilities District board of directors. Terms begin immediately and continue through 2018. The Public Facilities District participates in developing facilities such as the convention center in Vancouver and exhibition hall at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Board members receive $50 per day while attending meetings. Meetings are 4 p.m. the first Mondays of February, May, August and November.
