Nominees for high school winter athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Jan. 24. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian

KASEY CALWELL, CAMAS BOYS SWIMMING: Calwell set a new pool record in winning the 100 breaststroke and made a state-qualifying time in the 100 freestyle.

JESSICA EAKINS, WASHOUGAL GIRLS WRESTLING: Eakins won the 105-pound division at the Jaguar Invitational at Emerald Ridge High in Puyallup.

JENNA GULLIFORD, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS BASKETBALL: Gulliford had 16 points in each of her first two games since returning from being sidelined since early December.

VERONICA MUNSON, COLUMBIA RIVER BOWLING: Munson averaged 200 over four games last week as Columbia River capped a one-loss regular season.

KIENAN WALTER, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN BOYS BASKETBALL: Walter scored 26 and 37 points in two Trico League wins for the first-place Knights.
