WSUV to host free leadership conference

Washington State University Vancouver will host a free leadership conference for high school juniors and seniors, as well as college students from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Firstenburg Student Commons. Students must register for the Cougar Leadership Program at bit.ly/cougleaders by noon Feb. 2.

Parking is free on weekends at the campus, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.

Participants will learn leadership strategies they can apply to their personal, academic and future professional lives. The informative, interactive program includes:

• “Pace Yourself for Leadership” from keynote speaker Angela Cassel, a retired Air Force chief master sergeant and current CEO of TLC Moments. Cassel will focus on professionalism, attitude, courage, commitment and energy.

• Leadership skills workshops led by business leaders and WSU Vancouver alumni, staff and faculty.

• Networking for leaders.

• Lunch.
