Girls basketball: Mountain View 57, Heritage 49 (OT)

Jenna Gulliford scored six points in overtime as the Thunder pulled away from the Timberwolves.

Gulliford opened the overtime with a 3-point play and Hailey Hartney followed with a layup off a turnover to give Mountain View a quick five-point lead at the start of overtime. The Thunder outscored the Timberwolves 11-3 in overtime.

Hartney finished with a game-high 17 points and Gulliford added 16 for Mountain View (8-7, 3-4 GSHL).

“Our poise and composure in the overtime got us over the top,” Mountain View coach Mat Clark said. “We executed well when we had to.”

Heritage led at the end of each of the first three quarters. Both teams had chances to break the tie in the final minute of the fourth quarter.

Amy Gould scored 11 points to lead Heritage (5-10, 1-6).
