Highlights of the ongoing exhibits and attractions around town

• An 8-foot by 30-foot scale model of the 1918 Spruce Mill, which milled lumber destined for aircraft factories. Also on display are two vintage airplanes representing the transition of flight after World War I and World War II.

• “Straight-Grained Soldiers” explores the history of the Spruce Production Division, which helped supply lumber for World War I airplanes.

• “Army Boots and Army Wings” highlights the history of the Vancouver Barracks and Pearson Field with archaeological and historic artifacts.

Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays; 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays; noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. 1953 N.W. • “Anne Frank: A History for Today,” through April 14. The exhibit depicts the life of Anne Frank, who wrote daily in her diary from 1942 to 1944 while hiding with her family, with photos, survivor testimony and documents.

Oregon Zoo, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. 4001 S.W. Canyon Road, Portland; $11.50; $10 for ages 65 and older; $8.50 for ages 3-11. Free for ages 2 and younger. $4 during Second Tuesdays. Visitors who arrive by light rail get $1.50 off of admission. Permanent fixtures include Elephant Lands, the Amazon Flooded Forest and the Trillium Creek Family Farm. • “Go Figure!” through Feb. 1. Using popular children’s books, the exhibit shows children how math is used in everyday life. Presented in English and Spanish.

• “Take Me to the Top,” 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, $4. Travel 40 feet up into the simulated forest canopy and learn about the plants and animals that live in this uppermost layer of the forest.
