Alyssa Blankenship had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Jolynn Wenick added eight points and 11 rebounds as the Panthers hung tough against top-ranked Mark Morris.

“We just made too many turnovers that led to easy buskets in the third quarter,” Washougal coach Brian Oberg said. “But it was our best overall effort this season, and our best effort, by far, against Mark Morris in the last couple of years.”

The Panthers trailed 30-20 at halftime before the Monarchs used a 17-7 third-quarter edge to pull away.

“Mark Morris is No. 1 for a reason,” Oberg said. “They just don’t make mistakes.”

RaeAnn Allen had 15 points and four rebounds for the Panthers.
