A floating building that serves as both an office for Felida Moorage & Marine Services and the manager’s residence was heavily damaged by fire late Monday.
Firefighters from Clark County Fire District 6 were called to the two-story structure, 4911 N.W. 122nd St., just minutes after 9 p.m. Flames tore through the structure, and it took firefighters an hour to bring the blaze under control, according to Clark County Fire District 6 spokeswoman Sarah Mitchelson. The Vancouver Fire Department assisted at the scene.
“The fire spread really rapidly throughout the entire structure,” she said. “Just the skeleton of the building is left standing.”
Firefighters had to attach hoses to the hydrant at the top of the moorage’s access ramp and run them down to the building.
