Middle school Giving Tree helps 17 families during holidays

North Salmon Creek — Alki Middle School’s Giving Tree helped 17 Vancouver families during the holiday season by providing them with donated gifts, clothes and other necessities. The annual Sharing and Caring project brought in more than 300 gifts and filled 56 stockings to be given to families in need living in the Vancouver district. “When they first mentioned the Sharing and Caring program, I decided right then and there I’m going to do jobs for people to go and get money to do it,” said Alki sixth-grader Tess Raz in a post on the Vancouver Public Schools’ website.
