Letter: Respect law and take your penalty

The Columbian
Published: January 6, 2015, 4:00pm

Michael Wandell’s Jan. 6 letter, “Get schooled in laws before travel,” told of his adult son, who borrowed the family car and was subsequently caught speeding in British Columbia in excess of 24 mph over the posted limit, resulting in the car being impounded for 7 days. And he has the gall to complain about the laws of a foreign country limiting the tourist industry? Rather, he should turn the mirror to himself and ask what he did or didn’t do to raise a child who apparently has no respect for the laws of a foreign country, nor respect for the safety of others on the road. I have absolutely no sympathy for him.
