Battle Ground police are asking for the public to help identify a burglar who came face-to-face with the resident of a house he was burglarizing.
The burglary was reported in the 12000 block of 245th Street in Battle Ground at about 2:30 p.m.
The resident was home when a man tried to break in, police said. After spotting the resident, the burglar fled. Battle Ground police searched the area but could not locate a suspect.
The victim in the case provided the following description of the burglar: a thinly built white male in his late 20s or early 30s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, clean-shaven, no glasses and no obvious tattoos or jewelry. At the time of the burglary, he was wearing a light shirt and light gray pants, and may have been wearing a stocking cap, police said.
