Brittany McGuire went 4 for 4 from the free-throw line in a final 12-1 run for Hockinson that sent the Hawks to the third-place game in the 2A District 4 tournament.
Hockinson will play Black Hills at 6 p.m. Saturday at Centralia High School for a berth to the 2A state regionals.
Elle Tilkin had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks and Hannah Neibauer added seven points and seven steals to spark a comeback for the Hawks, who trailed by 10 in the third quarter.
“Brittany’s free throws down the stretch were crucial,” Hockinson coach Damon Roche said. “It was an absolutely great game on both sides.”
RaeAnn Allen led Washougal with 19 points and Alyssa Blankenship had 15.
Washougal coach Brian Oberg said he was proud of his team’s season despite seeing a late seven-point lead disappear.
“The rims got tight and we didn’t get it done,” Oberg said. “We will regroup and get after it again next year.”
Sydnie Cole-Vogler had 10 points, three assists and five rebounds for the Hawks, who were 16 for 32 from the field.
