A man was critically injured when he was struck by a vehicle Thursday evening near the Vancouver Police Department’s west precinct.
The man, who was wearing dark clothing, was walking south across East Fourth Plain Boulevard west of Northeast Stapleton Road when he was hit, police said. The driver of the vehicle that hit him stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
Investigators had trouble identifying the pedestrian, who was sent to a local hospital for treatment of his serious injuries, said police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.
