Dense fog advisory in effect through 12 p.m.

A dense fog advisory has been issued for parts of Clark County through 12 p.m. today.

The National Weather Service advisory affects the Portland area and specifically names the cities of Vancouver and Battle Ground.

In the advisory, the weather service warns that the fog may limit visibility to a quarter mile or less. The agency advises motorists to slow down, use headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation in the Vancouver area. Temperatures are expected to be at a low of 42 and a high of 57 degrees.
