Boys basketball: Battle Ground 73, Mountain View 44

The Tigers started fast and cruised behind Devin Johnson’s 15 points and 15 rebounds.

The win keeps Battle Ground (10-9, 6-5) in the running for third place in the 4A GSHL. The Tigers can pull even with Evergreen when the teams face off in the regular-season finale Thursday.

Battle Ground led 26-15 after one quarter and 47-22 at halftime.

“Once we settled down and got into the flow, we were pretty efficient offensively,” Battle Ground coach Wes Armstrong said. “It was a good all-around team win.”

Cole Scheibel scored a team-high 16 points for Battle Ground.

Alex Bailey scored 13 points for Mountain View (2-17, 0-11).
