Clark County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a man near a Hazel Dell intersection Saturday.
A 47-year-old man with no fixed address was driving a recreational vehicle that ran out of gas on Northeast Highway 99 near Northeast Minnehaha Street, according to the sheriff’s office.
The RV was partially blocking one of the northbound lanes and the man was trying to pour gas into the tank when a northbound white 1970s-model Ford pickup struck the man at about 11 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
The RV had no lights or flashers on.
The driver of the pickup initially stopped and spoke with witnesses but left the scene before medical personnel or law enforcement arrived, according to the sheriff’s office.
The victim was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with injuries described as not life threatening.
