The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.
In November, the Nursing Commission charged registered nurse Robert John Wattez with unprofessional conduct. Charges say that in 2013 the Oregon State Board of Nursing put Wattez on probation for sexually inappropriate behavior toward co-workers that interfered with patient care.
In December, the Naturopathy Board charged naturopathic physician Corie Rose Edwards with unprofessional conduct. Edwards allegedly didn’t meet the standard of care in issuing multiple medical marijuana authorizations. She allegedly didn’t conduct adequate exams, didn’t develop standard relationships with patients, didn’t advise patients of other treatment options, and didn’t keep adequate records.
In December, the secretary of health granted a chemical dependency professional trainee credential to Steven Lee Conner and placed him on probation. Conner must undergo an evaluation for a substance abuse monitoring program and complete course work in professional law and ethics.
