What’s open and what’s closed for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day:

• MAIL: Post offices open today. Regular home delivery. Post offices closed Friday. Only express mail delivered Friday. The postal unit at the Shell gas station, 1605 N.W. Sixth Ave., Camas, is open 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. every day of the year.

• GARBAGE: Regular service today. Trash and recyclables normally picked up Friday by Waste Connections in Vancouver and most of Clark County will be picked up Saturday. In Camas, Friday’s trash and recyclables will be picked up Monday.

• PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Fort Vancouver Regional Library open until 6 p.m. today and closed Friday. Camas Public Library is open today and is closed Friday.

• CLARK PUBLIC UTILITIES: Offices open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and closed Friday. For 24-hour customer service, call 360-992-3000. For outages or emergencies, call 360-992-8000.

• GOVERNMENT OFFICES: Open today and closed Friday.

• PARKING METERS: On-street parking in Vancouver is free Friday.

• BUSES: C-Tran follows a regular schedule today. On Friday, C-Tran follows the Sunday schedule. TriMet buses, WES commuter rail and streetcars follow regular schedule today, and MAX follows extra late-night schedule. All TriMet service is free after 8 p.m. today. On Friday, TriMet buses, MAX and streetcars follow the Sunday schedule.

• EMISSIONS TESTING: Open today and closed Friday.

• VEHICLE LICENSING: Open today and closed Friday.
