Boys basketball: Union 71, Woodcreek (Calif.) 64

The Union Titans took on one of the top teams in California, one of the top players in the country, and the Titans took the victory.

Tyler Combs scored 22 points to go along with four rebounds and four assists, helping Union to a 71-64 victory over Woodcreek, Calif., in the third-place game of the Surf N Slam Tournament in San Diego.

Cameron Cranston made three 3-pointers and finsished with 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists for the Titans.

Jordan Brown, the fourth-ranked sophomore in the country by ESPN’s recruiting service, had 36 points and 16 rebounds for Woodcreek.

The Titans were 9 of 20 from 3-point range and 18 of 20 from the free throw line.

Nico Bricker was named to the all-tournament team for Union.
