Police arrest suspect in northeast Portland homicide
PORTLAND (AP) — Homicide detectives have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a man in northeast Portland.
Sgt. Pete Simpson said Friday that detectives for investigative reasons are not ready to release the suspect’s name. He says no court dates will be scheduled until Monday.
The victim died late Thursday at a Portland hospital, about six hours after he found at Northeast 6th Avenue and Alberta Street. The man’s name has not been released, but Simpson says he was in his late 20s.
An autopsy will be performed this weekend.
Police say preliminary information suggests the shooting might be gang-related.
