Boys basketball: Granite Bay (Calif.) 65, Union 50

The Union Titans fell to Granite Bay in San Diego in the semifinals of the San Dieego Surf N Slam Tournament Tuesday.

Tyler Combs had a team-high 18 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals in the loss.

Granite Bay went on a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter and went 10-for-16 on 3-pointers, according to Union head coach Blake Connolly.

After the semifinal loss, the Titans will take on Woodcreek, another California school, in the 3rd place game on Wednesday.

“It’s just a great experience for us to have,” Connolly said. We have another tough team tomorrow. That’s why we came down here.”

Denis Kirichenko had a team-high nine rebounds.
