A Yacolt man has been identified as the pedestrian who died in a fatal crash on Christmas Eve.
Shawn Womelsdorf, 46, died of multiple blunt-force injuries, according to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. The death was ruled an accident.
Womelsdorf stepped in front of a southbound vehicle near Northeast St. Johns Road and 40th Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. He died at the scene.
The occupants of the vehicle, two adults and an infant, were not injured. The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police.
The crash is under investigation by the sheriff’s office traffic unit.
