Sprinkling of snow comes to Vancouver

Snowfall gave Clark County residents something to talk about Sunday afternoon, but that was about it.

No major weather-related problems were reported as snowflakes came down across the Vancouver area. At Pearson Field in Vancouver, 0.12 inch of precipitation — in the form of light snowfall — was recorded between about 2 and 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, but snow melted before it had a chance to accumulate on the ground.

Readers on social media also reported snow coming down outside of Vancouver, including in Salmon Creek, Hazel Dell, Felida and Camas.

Snowfall turned to rain by Sunday night, just as the weather service predicted in a winter-weather advisory issued Sunday morning for the greater Portland and Vancouver areas and Southwest Washington’s Interstate 5 corridor.
