Five local high school football standouts earned spots on the all-state first team as the Associated Press announced its all-state football teams Wednesday.
On the Class 4A all-state team, Camas receiver Jared Bentley was a first-team all-state selection. Senior had 91 receptions for 1,355 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Papermakers.
Earning spots on the 2A all-state first team was Hockinson receiver Kedrick Johnson, Hockinson linebacker Cameron Loos, Ridgefield defensive lineman Lane Andersen and Ridgefield punter Nick Thomas.
Johnson, a senior led Clark County players with 15 touchdownreceptions. He had 57 catches for 1,101 yards , and rushed for three TDs. Loos, a senior, was the 2A Greater St. Helens League defensive player of the year. Andersen was a run-stopper and elite pass rusher for the Spudders who led the state with 16 sacks, according to MaxPreps. Thomas veraged 46.3 yards a punt with a long of 66 yards and five punts downed inside the 20 for the Spudders.
