Vancouver police officers arrested two people Sunday on suspicion of trying to use fake $100 bills at the Fred Meyer store on Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard in east Vancouver, and police are searching for two others in connection with their investigation.

Police responded to a call at the store and arrested Priscilla J. Canterbury, 33, and Sarah K. Johnson, 37, on suspicion of forgery and heroin possession.

As part of their counterfeiting investigation, detectives also are looking for Nickolas Hiatt, no age available, and Noralee A. Nolan, 35. The police asked anyone with information about their whereabouts to contact Vancouver Police Department Detective Richard Rich at richard.rich@cityofvancouver.us.

Police also asked businesses that may have accepted fake currency from anyone involved in the investigation to contact law enforcement and make a report.

The department encouraged merchants to carefully inspect all currency by looking for the watermark. Many counterfeit bills can pass pen tests, the department said, so spotting counterfeit money requires a closer look.
