A man wearing a camouflage ski mask robbed a Subway restaurant in Hazel Dell on Tuesday night and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The robbery was reported just before 8 p.m. at the sandwich shop at 6525 N.E. Highway 99. A Subway employee said a man between the ages of 20 and 30 walked in and, without displaying a weapon, told the employee that he had a gun and that he wanted money from the cash register, said Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Rothenberger.

The employee described the man as skinny and said he was wearing a brown jacket, navy blue jeans and a camo ski mask, Rothenberger said. She couldn’t provide further details about his appearance and wasn’t sure whether he fled on foot or in a vehicle.

Police searched the area with a police dog but were unable to find a suspect, Rothenberger said. They also planned to review surveillance footage from the restaurant, he said.
