Week 3 winter sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Weekly vote, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Dec. 19.

Voting will continue until noon Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

GREG BERNASH, PRAIRIE BOYS BASKETBALL: Bernash averaged 17 points a game, including a 31-point game as Prairie place third in the Curtis Winter Classic.

MADDI DURR, FORT VANCOUVER GIRLS BOWLING: Durr averaged 201 over six games, including four game of 200 or better.

EMILY KARKANEN, CAMAS GYMNASTICS: Karkanen won the bars and the all-around with a score of 34.1 in meet vs. Union, Prairie and Fort.

ETHAN ROTONDO, UNION WRESTLING: Rotondo won the 106-pound division at the Tri-State Wrestling Tournament, pinning his opponents in the semifinals and finals.

TAYLOR STEPHENS, LA CENTER GIRLS BASKETBALL: Stephens averaged 18 points as the Wildcats won three games to push their record to 6-0.
