The Clark County Salvation Army is low on toys for children and is making a last-minute plea for donations.
Volunteers noticed they were running low on toys for children in the 8- to 14-year-old age range after distributing some of the inventory on Monday, said Major Michael Nute, county coordinator with the Salvation Army. The nonprofit is serving 750 families this year, Nute said.
Those interested in donating an unwrapped toy can drop it off Tuesday at the Salvation Army, which is at 1500 N.E. 112th Ave. Frisbees, basketballs, footballs, board games, Legos, Hot Wheels and dolls are some examples of age-appropriate gifts.
“Anything ‘Star Wars’ right now is pretty popular,” Nute said.
