Girls basketball: W.F. West 53, Evergreen 46

Makenzie Smith scored 12 points and Ahna Burney 10 for Evergreen, but visiting W.F. West came away with the non-league victory.

W.F. West scored five points in the last 15 seconds of the first half to take a 34-31 advantage and then held off Evergreen in the second half.

“It was a battle, and the scoring kind of shows that,” Evergreen coach Jay Foreman said.
