At the Curtis Tournament in University Place, the Tigers bounced back from a Thursday loss to hold off the Canadian squad. Battle Ground outscored Abbotsford 24-13 in the fourth quarter for the win.

Kobe Ford scored 19 points to lead the Tigers (2-4). Strong contributions off the bench, including 10 points from Landon Hall, was key to the victory according to Battle Ground coach Wes Armstrong.

Chase Claypool, who is verbally committed to play wide receiver at Notre Dame, led Abbotsford with 35 points.

Battle Ground will face South Kitsap at 4 p.m. Saturday for fourth place in the tournament.

Armstrong said his team did a better job holding its composure late in the game on Friday than it had in Thursday’s 72-62 loss to Post Falls, Idaho. After limiting Post Falls to 22 points in the first half of that game, the Tigers were outscored 48-31 in the second half.
