Major crimes detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Wednesday night near Vancouver’s Bagley Community Park.

Multiple officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Plomondon Street at 11:19 p.m. for what was reported as a disturbance involving weapons, according to Vancouver Police Department and emergency dispatch logs.

Officers found an unconscious adult man on the sidewalk; a responding paramedic unit pronounced the man deceased, Vancouver police said. There is no reason to believe that the public is in danger in relation to the incident, police said.

Kim Kapp, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department, said the initial investigation has detectives investigating the incident as a possible suicide.

The identity of the deceased man has not been released pending notification of family.

No other details were released.
