Girls basketball: La Center 68, King’s Way Christian 31

A 30-point first quarter sent the visiting Wildcats on their way to a Trico League win.

Taylor Stephens scored 14 of her game-high 18 points in the first quarter for La Center (5-0, 3-0). She also had four steals in the game.

Andrea Griffee scored 10 of her 16 points in the second quarter as the Wildcats built a 39-point halftime lead. Griffee added four assists and four steals, and Shelby Vermuelen had eight rebounds and five assists.

For King’s Way (0-6, 0-4), McKenzie Schaller had 15 points and four steals.
