The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Clark County now through early Saturday morning.
Heavy rain Wednesday night through Thursday are expected to cause a sharp rise in area creeks and rivers and ponding water and creek flooding is possible as early as Thursday afternoon, according to the weather service.
Landslides and debris flows are possible, the weather service said, advising that structures and roads below steep slopes may be at serious risk of rapidly moving landslides.
The agency advised that those in flood-prone zones be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
