West Vancouver — About 25 students in grades 8-12 attended an Hour of Code workshop on Dec. 8 at the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Washington in honor of Computer Science Education Week.

The workshop was run by instructors from Code Fellows, a code school based in Seattle with a location in Portland, and was intended to introduce computer science to students of all ages and backgrounds and demonstrate that anyone can learn the basics.

The students learned about the fundamentals of coding and spoke with instructors about a possible career in software development.
