Clark County — Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week, which ran Nov. 16 to 23, saw Clark County residents fill up and donate 14,950 shoeboxes with gifts for children, up from last year’s 13,514 total.

During the year, local churches, businesses, schools and individuals filled shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies and notes of encouragement for children in need around the world. It’s a record total for the Southwest Washington Operation Christmas Child Area Team.
