Hailee Niebauer scored 22 points off the bench as Hockinson opened 2A Greater St. Helens League play with its first win of the season.
Elle Tilken had 16 points and 22 rebounds for Hockinson, which outscored visiting R.A. Long 26-1 in the fourth quarter.
Now that league play has started, Hockinson is seeing the benefits of a tough early-season schedule that saw the Hawks lose to five local 3A and 4A schools.
“We’re in better shape than most of our opponents at this point of the season in this league,” Hockinson coach Eirik Huset said. “We’re starting to find our rhythm.”
R.A. Long suffered its first loss of the season after wins over Heritage and Kelso.
