GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. — Mount Hood Skibowl will open its chairlifts for the 2015-16 season on Wednesday.

The Lower Bowl and Multorpor chairs will operate from 3 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. The Upper Bowl chair will open at  3 p.m. Thursday.

All the chairlifts will be operating on Saturday.

The recent storm dropped 21 inches of snow. The ski area has 30 inches of snow at the top of the mountain.

“This is the biggest storm we have seen in two years and everyone is excited to get the ski area open this Wednesday,’’ said John Vermaas, mountain manager. “The grooming crew is out compacting the snow on the ski runs so we have a good base to carry us through the entire season.’’

The new Parking Lot Conveyor lift will be open for beginners and ski school lessons.

Extended holiday hours will be in effect from Dec. 21 through Jan. 3
